So, Presidents' Day was Monday.
Gavin thought that meant it was the day we pick a new president.
made perfect sense to me.
Anyway, it's been rough around these parts as of late. Aj's been adjusting to his new schedule and being gone for the entire 7 hour stretch has proved challenging for him. He 's been emotional and clingy and overly impulsive. Needless to say, I was super excited to spend the weekend with him.
He did get his chores done early. hip, hip, hooray!
Although, he ALSO managed to "find" (aka make) a rock covered snowball and chuck it at my front door. He also enjoyed scaling the shelves at Lowes and going on a hair-cutting spree in Sydney's room. The casualties involved a barbie doll and over-sized Little Mermaid. Oh, and Sydney.
Yeah... he cut Sydney's hair. After an hour and a half at Cookie Cutters salon, she now has bangs. Really textured bangs. And her hair is chin-length again.
After sentencing him to a day of intense labor with me, he declared he was ready to pack a bag and find a new family. I told him to go right ahead but he declared he COULDN'T! 'Why not?', i inquired. 'Because, i don't know where the BAGS are!' he said tearfully. i kindly offered to help him find one and even offered to help him pack.
Aren't I a giver? Always willing to help my kids out.
That night, he refused to eat his dinner and ended up going to bed early. Maybe it's cruel, but I'm not a short-order cook. And he's extremely picky. And I don't make anything weird. It was homemade lasagne.
This weekend, Tuesday seemed to take an awfully long time to get here.
I'm happy to say it was a good day - the best in a couple of weeks... Here's hoping.
